SALE. My favorite word.
It’s the only time I will be compelled to part with my husband’s hard earned money to buy new stuff. And I do love the smell of new stuff.
SM City Baguio‘s much awaited 3 Day Sale is going to be on May 3, 4 and 5.
This year’s 3 Day Sale in SM Baguio came in a perfect time for me, what with the Second Baguio Blog Conference set to happen the weekend after the 3 Day Sale, it gives me just enough time to be able to buy new clothes and new shoes for the event and I won’t feel bad because I’d be able to get the items I want at a more affordable price.
I’m due to buy new shoes, since I skipped getting new shoes for Christmas 2012 because I didn’t find one that I liked enough to buy. I love shoes and I don’t buy shoes unless I really really really like it. I spend more money on shoes than on bags and clothes, I’ve said it before, I can go naked as long as I have a pair of really gorgeous shoes, like those of Manolo Blahnik‘s or Christian Louboutin‘s. It’s a good thing that The SM Store does not carry these designer shoes in their roster of shoe brands, otherwise, my husband I would be in so much debt right now.
As always during the first 2 hours of the first day of any SM Baguio 3 Day Sale, you are entitled to an additional 10% discount on top of the already discounted price if you are an SM Advantage Card, SM Prestige Card or BDO Rewards Card holder. Can you imagine how many pairs of shoes I can buy on Friday, May 3, with the 2-hour special? I’m thinking maybe 4! 
I have kids, so it is highly unlikely that I will get all my discount shopping done in just one day. Thankfully, it is a 3 Day Sale, so I will be able to get all my discount shopping done. My kids don’t really like shopping, so we can only stay in the mall 4 hours, tops, and then I have to feed them and then head home and come back the next day. Shopping can be tedious, especially if you’re a meticulous shopper like I am. I like to make sure that all the things I buy are in excellent condition, so I make sure to check every inch of it, whether it is clothes, shoes or accessories, the slightest flaw will result in me not making a purchase. I mean really, I don’t want people to obviously see that my things were bought during a sale, you know what I mean?
And because June is just around the corner and the kids will be back to school in no time, I will also shop for the kids. The next 3 Day Sale will not be until October, so now is the perfect time to buy school supplies, school shoes and new outfits for school, if you want to save some money, I don’t want my kids to sport old clothes on their first month back to school and kids’ clothes can be darn expensive, so I’m going to be taking advantage of the 3 Day Sale as much as I can and buy everything that the kids will need, so when June comes, they’re all set.
So Friday, is for shoes. Saturday, will be for clothes and school supplies and Sunday will be for whatever I wasn’t able to get on Friday and Saturday..
It’s highly unlikely that I will miss something but just in case, and I’ve probably run out of cash by the time Sunday comes around, so that means if I need to buy something else, I will have to use my credit card, but that’s okay because I’ll get a 5% rebate for every Php5,000 single receipt purchase. Oh wait, that’s just for BDO credit card holders, and I have a different one, so I guess I won’t go shopping on Sunday after all! Here’s to praying I don’t forget anything!
The best part of the 3 Day Sale is being able to buy the stuff you want at a more affordable rate, but it’s also fun to participate in raffles and although the chances of me winning is like a hundred to one, I won’t lose anything by joining, and who knows, maybe this time around, the odds will be in my favor.
